Or…How you can put 20 strangers together in a room and create a real connection between them in a couple of minutes.
Going back a couple of weeks ago, on the 17th of March, to our second collaboration with Odessa Amsterdam and things will become a little bit clearer. For those of you who do not know, Odessa is a social conscious club situated on a boat and, as a visual cue on how awesome it is, on top you have a sauna and a hot tub, on the main floor a chill area with a bar and downstairs the partying stage.
The night was a magical journey – starting with a cacao ceremony, continuing on the notes of shamanic music and ending on downtempo vibes.
For those curious minds who are already wondering “what is a cacao ceremony?” and how does this all connect with the statement above, it all comes up to the following idea:
“Together with guided meditation, it helps you to start your journey deep within, to discover more about yourself while releasing negative blockages and finding peace and clarity. It creates the perfect space where you can switch off the outside chaos and journey into the silence, so that you can become clearer of who you are, where you are going, and the opportunities available to you.”
We had the pleasure to have Steffen Kirchhoff preparing the cacao together with our lovely helpers as well as guiding the ceremony.
We started with a check in. By taking turns, we said our names and something about ourselves that we wanted to share with the group. In those moments, you could already feel a change in the atmosphere - people were vulnerable, opening up and smiling to one another. A guided meditation followed. Afterwards, Steffen explained how the cacao was prepared and finally we got to taste it (a moment well waited for).
In the last half an hour, we did 5 interactive exercises which built up to the emotions that we experienced at the end.
Thanks to all of you who participated and made the night so special and for the rest of you, we are hoping you will join us on our next journey.
Until next time,
your Love Foundation Amsterdam
